Lake Wylie boat ramps

Every public ramp on both sides of the lake, and what usually happens to each one when the water drops.

Before you tow: ramp closures change day to day in a drought. Check Duke's Lake View app or call 800-829-5253. Kayaks and paddleboards can usually still launch at a closed ramp.

Low-water tips

  • Shallow ramps lose their end lanes first. Back in slowly and watch for the drop-off at the end of the concrete.
  • Points and sandbars come up fast when the lake is low. Stay in marked channels.
  • Backing a trailer off the end of a short ramp is an easy way to damage it. If in doubt, try a deeper ramp.

Duke Energy access areas are run by Duke. County ramps may charge a fee. Rules and hours are posted at each ramp.
